Senior Product Engineer (m/f/d) | Safety Systems
As a Senior Product Engineer, based on the proposed product platform you define and develop a safety product according to customer and legal specifications.
Location: Neuss / Mörfelden-Walldorf
Responsibilities
Defines and develops a safety product (seatbelt/airbag/steering wheel within the client’s process and to a set of requirements defined by the “customer” Is a reference in his expertise domain and registered as an expert available for all locationsPrepares strategic product related, technical decisions together with the Core Engineering TeamMain contact person for the customer together with the Program ManagerCommunicates globally with Subject Matter Technical Experts and shares best business practicesDevelops to the state-of-the-art available technical knowledge, latest crash-test-legislation and consumer-test-requirementsCreates Innovative Solutions in this field – exceeding the state-of-the-art available technical knowledgeRequirements can be set by outside (OEM customer) or internal (goals/targets) customer or bothTechnical responsibility to develop in time, under lean use of all resources and within the given budgetTechnical support within selection of suppliers, make-or-buy decisions, ensuring cost profit relationship and validate technical choicesGuides and advises on all aspects of any particular specialization as applied to the department deliverablesEnsures sustainability of technical expertise through inside and outside best business practice sharingPresents the company`s products and strategy at the customer and compiles reports according to internal or external specificationsTrains respective employee groups on expertise knowledgeSupports teams in technical choices, shows the right direction for projects and discloses his knowledge to teams or beginnersContributes to Customer Requirements clarificationBuilds & organizes enterprise knowledge in his domain (including writing manuals)
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical career pathAt least 5-10 years of safety product development experience with driver airbag and steering wheel or seatbelt engineering (testing/design/validation)Experience in international collaborations and multi-site product developmentFluent in English and German language, both spoken and writtenDetail- oriented and very organizedTeamplayer with an innovative mindset
